Intelligent family dogs for work and play

Thank you for your interest in Ransomshire German Shepherds. As dedicated breeders we breed to outstanding stud dogs to produce high quality German Shepherds which conform to the Breed Standard and are intelligent, healthy, well-balanced examples of the breed. We are committed to improving the health of our breed, so we breed only dogs with an OFA rating of GOOD or EXCELLENT (or the equivalent). We also test our females for DM so our pups will not be at risk for that devastating disease.  We train following the book The Art of Raising a Puppy, by the Monks of New Skete. Reading this book will help you understand what we are doing and what kind of start this puppy has received during its first 7 weeks.  We HIGHLY urge you to read their newest book Let Dogs Be Dogs  also.

We are AKC breeders. We are member breeders of GoodDog.  See their website for their high standards.  As Board member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Greater Raleigh, North Carolina Area www.gsdcgraleigh.org/  and member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, we share concerns, information and ideas with other knowledgeable GSD people who have a passion for this noble breed.

We screen our prospective puppy owners and choose the homes for puppies with people who understand that they are adopting a family member who needs training and TLC to become the companion they will be proud to have by their side.

If you would like to be on our waiting list for the next litter it requires an accepted questionnaire and a $500 deposit. Pups cost $2500 as of January 2021.

Occasionally a grown GSD is available for sale to the right home.  If you are looking for an older or already trained dog, let us know. We try to network with other breeders to get good dogs in the right homes.
